Other Medicare Plans Available in Buchanan County
While we can help you check your enrollment eligibility and compare Medicare Advantage plans that may be available in St. Joseph, we may also be able to help you find and compare available Medicare Supplement plans and Prescription Drug plans (Part D).
Medicare Supplement plans, also known as Medigap plans, help cover gaps in coverage from Medicare Part A and Part B, such as deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. In most states, there are ten Medicare Supplement plans to choose from, and all policies have been standardized, meaning there’s no difference in the benefits offered between Medicare Supplement insurers.
Medicare Prescription Drug plans, also known as Medicare Part D, help cover the cost of both generic and brand-name medications. Under federal provisions:
2026 Out-of-Pocket Limit: Out-of-pocket prescription drug spending under Part D is strictly capped at $2,100 per year in 2026. Once you reach this limit, you pay $0 for covered formulary drugs for the remainder of the calendar year.
2027 Out-of-Pocket Limit: The federal out-of-pocket prescription drug cap is scheduled to increase to $2,400 in 2027. Reviewing your plan's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) each fall helps ensure your medications remain affordable.
A standalone Medicare Part D plan can be purchased to supplement Original Medicare or to accompany a Medicare Supplement plan.
Note: Enrolling in a standalone Part D plan will automatically disenroll you from a Medicare Advantage plan)
